The Heikal Group is proud to give back to the community by opening its 590 Gainsborough Road location to local organizations making a real impact. We are sharing our building with community organizations including the Muslim Wellness Network (MWN) and the Boys and Girls Club (BGC). What began as an interim use has quickly grown into a vibrant hub where children, youth, and seniors can explore, learn, and connect.

At 590 Gainsborough Road, the Heikal Group is shaping more than just a building, it’s creating a shared home for organizations that foster connection, belonging, and opportunity across the city. By welcoming Community organizations into the facility, the goal is simple: expand access to meaningful programming for residents of all ages, backgrounds, and incomes.

Inside, the space already reflects that vision. The Boys and Girls Club programs bring energy and curiosity to every corner, young children diving into STEM experiments, older youth discovering their voices through creative storytelling and comic design, and teens building confidence through practical pre-driving safety training. The Muslim Wellness Network complements this with culturally grounded, accessible initiatives that make the environment welcoming for everyone. Much of what’s offered is low-cost or entirely free, ensuring families who need it most can participate.
The momentum hasn’t gone unnoticed. At a recent open house, Councillor Corrine Rahman highlighted how this partnership aligns with local priorities around wellness, youth engagement, and community access. Her presence underscored what the effort represents: a place where residents can gather, learn, and feel connected to their neighbourhood.

Though the current building will eventually be redeveloped into the 590 Gainsborough apartments, with thoughtfully planned commercial and childcare space on the ground floor, the Heikal Group views this interim period as an opportunity. Opening the doors to Community organizations ensures the space serves the community now, providing programs, connection, and support while the site prepares for its next chapter.
